Cool Old School Butcher Shop.

We almost shot a commercial here a few years ago because it has that classic “Figure A:” butcher shop look. It’s too bad there aren’t many of these left...sure beats the hell out of the crap they sell at Cub and the other gigantic grocers.

Bowling & Burgers.

What could be a better night than a bigass juicy lucy, fries and a beer or two followed up by a couple rounds of bowling and a beer or three? Read somewhere that The Nook had one of the best burgers in the state so we decided to give it a shot. There are a few juicy lucy type burgers out there and not one has even come close to matt’s, so i was a little unsure when i heard the Nook was talking up their juicy lucy, but i gotta say, they make a damn good juicy lucy. In some ways i prefer it over Matt’s. Pam thinks i’m crazy, but when you factor in the cozy feel of the bar and the fact that there’s an old school bowling alley right next door it makes it a pretty compelling option over Matt’s.

Above ground ball return. Beer in cans. No digital score display. Heaven.

Jack-O-Lantern.

It’s embarassing to admit, but i don’t think i’ve ever carved a pumpkin before. If i have i don’t remember doing it. Strange. Maybe i had a bad experience once when i was a little kid and i never wanted anything to do with it again. Well we busted out the carving knives at Patrick & Kelly’s and got busy. Man, that was pretty fun. I kind of wanted to make another one but didn’t get around to it. Next years will be even better.

Recording Session.

Mike at a recording session at Babble-On Studios probably doing something for Evercare. Think a lot of sitting around eating M&M’s.

Shoe Shopping with Pam.

King’s Place.

We’re on a hamburger kick this month i guess. Pam found this article of the best hamburgers so we had to get out and try them. This place was probably an hours drive but worth it. I dig old small town bars that double as the owners house...if you live in your work you probably give a shit about what you do. The thing with King’s was the amount of burger choices they give you...they probably had 25 different burgers on the menu, the highlights being a hamburger with a fried egg on top and another hamburger with a hot dog on top. Both of them sound like they’d kill you but what the hell... you’re already eating a hamburger. I should have rolled with the fried egg number but blew it and got the more traditional mushroom and swiss burger. As a burger it was just okay. It needed more grease and i should have ordered mine with fried onions. I’m no burger expert, but i don’t think a burger can be taken seriously or judged seriously unless it has fried onions on top of it. I’m going back to King’s, but i’ll be getting that fried egg heart attack...something tells me that hamburger will rate.

Opps.

Frostop Root Beer...another mistake i made, should have just gone for a beer.

Cool truck parked in a field behind the burger joint.
