Wine Bottles. 1:35 am.

We went to Kelly & Patrick’s place last night and stayed til this morning, making sure we all got signed up for killer hangovers. Actually mine wasn’t that bad, but i did feel it a little bit. We just hung out, drank, ate cheese and crackers, listened to music and talked.

Mac’s Fish & Chips.

There’s no better place in town to get fish & chips. We don’t eat that stuff very much, but when we do there’s only one place to go. The batter is thick and crispy but doesn’t overtake the fish because the fish filets they use are more like steak filets than the usual thin filets I usually see in the fish at fish & chips places.

Panini Maker.

This is one of those useless kitchen appliances that’s actually useful. Pam got me this thing for christmas and i’ve made some pretty good stuff on it. The best being peanut butter & jelly sandwiches that rule the world. That’s what Pam made for dinner last night...I had something else and kicked myself the whole time for not waiting for the PB&J.

Josh at Barbette.

Barbette has clearly become our new night office. The beer isn’t bad, the space is great, the people watching is killer and we’ve managed to get a whole lot of stuff done in that space in the past 5 or 6 months.

Creepy Costume Shop.

Our clients at 3M are having us make some huge walking eyeball costumes for a project we’re working on (“The Wandering Eyes”) and we went to see the costumes in progress at a studio that makes these things for all kinds of companies. If you’ve ever seen a 6 foot tall walking box of cereal, they probably made it. The creepy part was seeing all these “dead” costumes laying around...headless or bodyless. Kermit the frog. The Hulk. Barney. If I was a kid I think I would totally have freaked out.

The Giant Eyeball.

These things are going to be pretty funny.

Here the costume makers are telling us how the thing

will work when it’s finished. Details I never thought

about like building shelves on the inside where they can

set stuff, slits for their hands to pop out the sides, ice

pack body vests so the poor sucker inside doesn’t collapse from the heat. Yep, hire a pro and get a pro job.

Town Talk Diner.

It’s a real drag that this place isn’t open anymore. Luckily I think they’ve protected it so no one can tear it down or fuck it up too bad. Hopefully someday soon they’ll start flipping pancakes again.

“Last one to Denny’s buys!”

Saw these two Lark-warriors cruising down Lake Street. I’m pretty sure they both would have done fine without the Larks, but chose to go the lazy route instead.

The New Java Jacks.

They fixed the old coffee shop up pretty nice. I was

real worried that they would screw it up good, but Jerry (the “new” owner, Jack has been gone for a few years) did a pretty kickass job. Maybe if it gets nice again they can actually open those garage doors, but lately it’s been snowing, yes, snowing. I got so pissed about it I just left my motorcycle downtown all week instead of ride it home in the snow one night. I finally went and got the damn thing and rode it home in, yep...snow.

Archive 5.

DJ Guy at Peter’s Party.

Peter had a belaated birthday party for him and a friend of his so Pam and I stopped by to have some drinks and hangout. He had this dude spinning pretty good tunes in the living room. The dude had all his music on his computer and  only used the records to create “spinning” effects...whatever those are.

One of the Coolest Toys of All Time.

Shogun Warriors. Man I loved those things when i was a kid. KISS, Logos and Shogun Warriors. That sums up my childhood desires. This is the full size Shogun, it’s like 3 feet tall!...I never actually had one of these, I had the small metal ones which were super cool too. Mike was way into these things when he was a kid too so we both went out on EBAY and picked these up a year or so ago. Looking at that toy makes me 9 years old the second I look at it. Very cool.
